# What is RCS in MessageFlow?

RCS (Rich Communication Services) is a modern mobile messaging standard that turns the default messaging app on the recipient’s phone into an interactive sales and customer service channel. Unlike third-party messengers, RCS does not require installing any additional app — messages are delivered straight to the phone’s native Messages app, and all communication is based on the recipient’s phone number.

This allows a brand to send rich content — photos, videos, product carousels, maps or action buttons — and hold a complete, two-way conversation with the customer within a single message thread, without redirecting them to a website or another app.

A key element of RCS channel security is the Brand Agent — the brand’s verified identity, thanks to which the recipient sees the logo, name and a verified sender badge from the very first message. In the MessageFlow panel, the RCS section is divided into three main areas, described in the following chapters: Settings (Brand Agent configuration), RCS Flow Studio (creating content and scenarios) and Campaigns (sending to recipients).
