Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook is one of the most popular email clients, used by both businesses and individual users. Configuring it to send via MessageFlow SMTP allows you to use a professional, scalable infrastructure instead of your standard email provider's server. This connection gives you access to tools unavailable in a standard setup: advanced reports, the ability to track the status of sent messages, and detailed logs. Sending through servers with a high reputation can also improve the security and potential deliverability of your correspondence.
Before you begin
Make sure you have your MessageFlow SMTP credentials ready, as you will need them during the configuration process.
You can find these credentials in your MessageFlow panel under Email API -> Settings -> SMTP Accounts.
For more information, see our general documentation: SMTP Integrations
Step-by-step configuration
Open the Microsoft Outlook application on your computer.
Click on the File tab in the top-left corner. Then navigate to Account Settings and select Server Settings from the dropdown menu.

In the settings window that appears, select the Outgoing mail tab.
Fill in the configuration fields using your SMTP credentials from the MessageFlow panel:
Server:
smtp.messageflow.com
Port:
587
Encryption method: Select STARTTLS from the list.
Check the box for My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication.
Select the option Use same settings as my incoming mail server if your login is your full email address, or configure it separately.
If you configure it separately, enter the following:
User Name: Enter your username in the format
1.your_account_name.smtp
.Password: Enter the password for your SMTP account.
Important: Ensure the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is unchecked, as this method is not used.

After filling in all the fields, click the Next button. Outlook will then test the settings.
Once the test is successful, click Done to save the configuration.
Verifying the integration
After Outlook's settings test is successful, send a test message to an external email address (different from the one you are configuring) to finalize the verification.
Then, log in to the MessageFlow panel and go to the Email API -> Email Reports section. If the sent message is visible on the list, it means your Microsoft Outlook is correctly integrated with MessageFlow.
